What are you waiting for?

Hello everyone. I know I have been away for awhile, but I had surgery and still recovering from it, so because of it, I'm not allowed to stay on here for long periods of time. I just wanted to quickly say thank you to each and one of you who have sent me continuous comments on my profile. You guys are the best any friend could ask for. I should be able to come back on and stand to sit at my computer much longer sometime after Jan 11th. Until then I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year. Christmas Blessings, Peace & Love, SDChick alt
Wow, I go away and what happened to this site? Looks as though this place went to sheeeeeeeeit! :(

Been away for awhile

Hello everyone. I know I have been away for awhile and probably will be on and off for awhile longer. We had a Tornado Touch down in our home town and have been having some awful weather that past few weeks. Nothing major was damaged this time thank God, but just enough mess to keep you busy. The Tornado knocked down several trees and scattered debris all over town. Even had lightning Strike one tree here catching it on fire. We had our electricity down for 2 days and had to run our generator to keep us going with the business. I totally shut down off the Internet and just have been concentrating on the other daily duties of my busy work days. Thank You to all who continued to send me love and comments while I was away. You are all truly the best online friends anyone could ask for. I will try to come on as much as possible and keep everyone posted when able. It's looking so far like all this week is going to be nothing but severe Thunder storms here, so I won't be online too much. Until than, you all have a wonderful week and Take Care of yourselves.

Miss you all, SDChick
Just wanted to say Thank You to all the VIP's out there who stopped by my page that gave me all the 11's to help pick me back up from all the haters out there hitting me with 1's. Not really sure why they do this especially when you put up a picture that's not even of yourself. Very frustrating because just like everyone on here we're all only trying to level up. Not sure if it's just pure jealousy or Strictly hatin' because your noticed, but my personal opinion is they need to get a life, stop hatin' or just get the hell off the site and go take their miserable self some place else.. Anyways, I'm finished venting now, so Thank You very much to all who helped pick me back up with all those 11's.

Twin Cities Tragedy

THE LASTEST NEWS MINNEAPOLIS (CNN) -- At least seven people were killed when an interstate bridge in Minneapolis, Minnesota, collapsed Wednesday evening, in what the governor called a "catastrophe of historic proportions." The accident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday when dozens of cars were on the bridge. Witnesses described a "dust cloud" as it collapsed, sending cars and and chunks of concrete plunging into the Mississippi River below. At least 60 people were taken to local hospitals, said Minneapolis Fire Chief Jim Clack. All survivors have been taken off the bridge, said Minneapolis police Chief Tim Dolan during a news conference Wednesday night. Crews have searched 50 cars and are looking for more possible victims, but the mission has changed from a rescue to a recovery mode. "We have confirmed that this will be a very tragic night when it is over," said Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak. Mark Lacroix, who lives on the 20th floor of an apartment building near the bridge, told CNN he saw the last seconds of the collapse. "I heard this massive rumbling and shaking basically and looked out my window," Lacroix said. "It just fell right into the river." Another witness was walking on a pedestrian bridge nearby when he saw the disaster. "There were several cars completely just crushed. ... I saw some policeman walk up to the drivers' windows and look and and kept walking on by, so either the person was deceased or not in the car," Joe Costello said. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security said it saw no indications of terrorism in the incident. Construction took place on the bridge Tuesday night and was to take place again Wednesday night, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The highway would have been restricted to a single lane in both directions from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. both nights. The bridge was undergoing redecking work, but nothing structural was being done, U.S. Transportation Department spokesman Brian Turmail said. There were eight construction workers on the bridge at the time of the collapse, and one of them is unaccounted for, said Mike McGray, president of Progressive Contractors, the company doing the repair work on the bridge. Gov. Tim Pawlenty said inspections of the 40-year-old bridge in 2005 and 2006 found no structural defects, but a 2001 study conducted by the Minnesota Department of Transportation found "several fatigue problems" in the bridge's approach spans and "poor fatigue details" on the main truss. The study suggested that the design of bridge's main truss could cause a collapse if one of two support planes were to become cracked, although it allowed that a collapse might not occur in that event. But, the study concluded, "fatigue cracking of the deck truss is not likely" and "replacement of the bridge ... may be deferred." After the collapse, the nearby University of Minnesota Medical Center received "just a handful" of injuries from the accident, spokesman Ryan Davenport said. "One of our hospitals has five patients so far, and the other on the other side of the river has none," he said. Nancy Ebert of Northwestern Hospital said it had received four injured people -- two children and two adults. Dr. Joseph Clinton, chief of emergency medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center, said the hospital is treating 28 injured people, six of them critically hurt. He also said the hospital received one patient who was pronounced dead on arrival. "We have one drowning victim here, and I believe there are more drowning victims at the scene," he said. Witnesses told CNN a school bus filled with children was on the bridge when it collapsed, but they also said the bus did not drop into the water and it appeared that all the children had been evacuated. Jeff Pearson, regional vice president of First Student, Inc. -- which handles school buses in Minneapolis -- said that about 60 children, plus teachers, chaperones and a driver, were on the bus and that all were accounted for. Aerial footage showed the middle of the bridge caved in, lying in the Mississippi River, with cars both on top and submerged in the water. The main part of the collapsed span was not submerged, but the span clearly separated from the land-based sections of the highway on both the north and south ends of the bridge. A witness said it looked like "toy cars" were plunging into the water. "I heard a terrible noise, and then I looked. It seemed like a piece of the bridge was pancaking and going down," said Janet Stately. "I said, 'Did we really see that? Did we really see that?' and it was unbelievable." About 100,000 cars a day travel over the bridge, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. PRAYERS ARE NEEDED AND ALSO BLOOD DONORS. ALL SURROUNDED AREAS ARE NEEDED. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DONATE, GO TO YOUR NEAREAST REDCROSS.

Two Boxes

Two Boxes I have in my hands two boxes Which God gave me to hold He said, Put all your sorrows in the black, And all your joys in the gold. I heeded his words, and in the two boxes Both my joys and sorrows I store But though the gold became heavier each day The black was as light as before With curiosity, I opened the black I wanted to find out why And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole Which my sorrows had fallen out by I showed the hole to God, and mused aloud, "I wonder where my sorrows could be." He smiled a gentle smile at me. "My child, they're all here with me." I asked, God, why give me the boxes, "Why the gold, and the black with the hole?" "My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings, the black is for you to let go.
Hello my Friends and Fans. I finally made it back home to my own top soil. Shew, what a long haul that was. Had some really good days, but I must admit some days I could of done without. Everything went well and I met a lot of wonderful people a long the way. I spent a big majority of the time away visiting with my brother and nursing him back from a shattered foot. That was a really nice time and was sad to have to leave. We spent 1 day searching around looking for a chair sort of like the hover around to put him in so we could take a Ferry ride over to Seattle the following day to spend money. (Something I have a strong addiction to) lol But enjoyed it very much. I also got to play the little sister Taxi service to big brother and drive his nice new truck all over which I enjoyed. He just bought a new Cummins Diesel, so it was like driving a tank compared to my little beamer I drive. lol I want to thank all of my Friends and Fans on here who kept my page alive and colorful while I was away. Was nice to see when I signed back on here. I tried to come on yesterday to say hello to everyone when I first got home, but here in our home town Stir-up days where going on, so it was a bit hectic. I'm heading off here soon for an early start back to work tomorrow, but will be back on hopefully to see some of you I have missed while away. Thanks again everyone. You're all such great friends to have on here. Love, SDChick

Friends and fans. The time has come again which happens every year for me to be away. I will be leaving tomorrow AM on a trip for our company conducting safety measures and getting a better understanding how to make our company strong. I will also be in Washington State helping out my brother who shattered his foot. I will be back in CT land sometime around the 22nd-23rd of July. I will surly miss all my CT friends Whom I have grown very close to. I know this is an awful long time away and I'm hoping I don't get thrown in the "Forgotten Folder" Please keep my page alive while I'm away. It's aways cheery to see comments. My brother does have a computer, but is very addicted to a site called "Pogo" Im sure you've all heard of it. I will try from time to time to come on and check message and hopefully can leave some also. If not, I will at least post a blog when at all possible.
