What are you waiting for?

Thursday, July 03, 2008 Two anti-gun bills are awaiting consideration by the Senate Appropriations Committee. Assembly Bill 2235 would prohibit the sale of handguns other than "owner-authorized (or “smart”) handguns"-- that is, handguns with a permanent, programmable biometric feature that renders the firearm useless unless activated by the authorized user. No proven, viable handgun of this type has ever been developed. Introduced by Assemblyman Mark DeSaulnier (D-11), AB2235 would require the Attorney General to report to the Governor and Legislature on the availability of owner-authorized handguns. Once the Attorney General finds that these guns are available, only “owner-authorized” handguns could be approved for sale in California. Assembly Bill 2948 could be headed for action on the Senate floor any day. Introduced by State Assembly Member Mark Leno (D-13), this bill would ban the sale of firearms and ammunition on the property or inside the buildings that comprise the Cow Palace. Please contact your State Senator and the members of the Senate Appropriations Committee TODAY and respectfully urge them to oppose these threats to our Second Amendment freedoms. For years, anti-gunners have claimed that there's a gun-related epidemic in our country, and for once, they're right. It's not gun-related crime though. An epidemic is something that is common and spreading rapidly; gun-related crime has been diminishing for 15 years. What is common and spreading now is a condition one could call "anti-gun anxiety," or AGA. Apparently, it has been brought on by the U. S. Supreme Court ruling in Heller that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear handguns and other arms, and that the right existed before the Constitution was written and is not conditioned on a person's relationship to a militia.

BIG NEWS IN WASHINGTON

FINALLY .....SOMEONE HAD THE COMMON SENSE ......to lift the ban
The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that Americans have a right to own guns for self-defense and hunting, the justices' first major pronouncement on gun rights in U.S. history. ADVERTISEMENT The court's 5-4 ruling struck down the District of Columbia's 32-year-old ban on handguns as incompatible with gun rights under the Second Amendment. The decision went further than even the Bush administration wanted, but probably leaves most firearms laws intact. The court had not conclusively interpreted the Second Amendment since its ratification in 1791. The amendment reads: "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." The basic issue for the justices was whether the amendment protects an individual's right to own guns no matter what, or whether that right is somehow tied to service in a state militia. Writing for the majority, Justice Antonin Scalia said that an individual right to bear arms is supported by "the historical narrative" both before and after the Second Amendment was adopted. The Constitution does not permit "the absolute prohibition of handguns held and used for self-defense in the home," Scalia said. The court also struck down Washington's requirement that firearms be equipped with trigger locks or kept disassembled, but left intact the licensing of guns. In a dissent he summarized from the bench, Justice John Paul Stevens wrote that the majority "would have us believe that over 200 years ago, the Framers made a choice to limit the tools available to elected officials wishing to regulate civilian uses of weapons." He said such evidence "is nowhere to be found." Justice Stephen Breyer wrote a separate dissent in which he said, "In my view, there simply is no untouchable constitutional right guaranteed by the Second Amendment to keep loaded handguns in the house in crime-ridden urban areas." Joining Scalia were Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Samuel Alito, Anthony Kennedy and Clarence Thomas. The other dissenters were Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and David Souter. Gun rights supporters hailed the decision. "I consider this the opening salvo in a step-by-step process of providing relief for law-abiding Americans everywhere that have been deprived of this freedom," said Wayne LaPierre, executive vice president of the National Rifle Association. Supreme Court says Americans have right to guns The NRA will file lawsuits in San Francisco, Chicago and several of its suburbs challenging handgun restrictions there based on Thursday's outcome. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., a leading gun control advocate in Congress, criticized the ruling. "I believe the people of this great country will be less safe because of it," she said. The capital's gun law was among the nation's strictest. Dick Anthony Heller, 66, an armed security guard, sued the District after it rejected his application to keep a handgun at his home for protection in the same Capitol Hill neighborhood as the court. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ruled in Heller's favor and struck down Washington's handgun ban, saying the Constitution guarantees Americans the right to own guns and that a total prohibition on handguns is not compatible with that right. The issue caused a split within the Bush administration. Vice President Dick Cheney supported the appeals court ruling, but others in the administration feared it could lead to the undoing of other gun regulations, including a federal law restricting sales of machine guns. Other laws keep felons from buying guns and provide for an instant background check. Scalia said nothing in Thursday's ruling should "cast doubt on long-standing prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons or the mentally ill, or laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings." In a concluding paragraph to the his 64-page opinion, Scalia said the justices in the majority "are aware of the problem of handgun violence in this country" and believe the Constitution "leaves the District of Columbia a variety of tools for combating that problem, including some measures regulating handguns." The law adopted by Washington's city council in 1976 bars residents from owning handguns unless they had one before the law took effect. Shotguns and rifles may be kept in homes, if they are registered, kept unloaded and either disassembled or equipped with trigger locks. Opponents of the law have said it prevents residents from defending themselves. The Washington government says no one would be prosecuted for a gun law violation in cases of self-defense. The last Supreme Court ruling on the topic came in 1939 in U.S. v. Miller, which involved a sawed-off shotgun. Constitutional scholars disagree over what that case means but agree it did not squarely answer the question of individual versus collective rights. Forty-four state constitutions contain some form of gun rights, which are not affected by the court's consideration of Washington's restrictions. The case is District of Columbia v. Heller, 07-290.

BOTH ARE BADDD!!!!

as more and more Americans express thier disgust over barrack Obama's recent comments that small town Americans "Cling to " gun ownership and religous faith because they are "bitter", his democratic opponent is trying to turn up the heat. Hillary Clinton tried to express her support for the Second Amendment , leading Obama to fire back. "Shes running around talking about how this is an insult to sportsmen, how she values the Second Amendment. Shes talking like shes Annie Oakley" American gun owners have for years understood the elitist concept of special privilages for the few. The same few who look down thier noses at the people who respect basic American traditions like flying the flag, going to church, owning a gun and believing in the Bill of Rights. Obama's statement is a crack in the door that gives us all a peek at how the "special" people lokk at the rest of us. Americans can read that code. The truth is, BOTH Obama and Clinton have long anti-gun records. Hopefully Obama and Clinton will continue to point out how anti-gun the other one is. It just makes my job that much easier.
June 5th 2008 Another Violent weekend has Washington D.C. Police blaming guns, NOT the criminals. And this time they are even blaming guns for homicides committed by someone who used a knife! Assistant Police Chief Diane Groomes told the press " We need to get the guns out of peoples hands" despite the fact that one of the people killed over the weekend was stabbed to death. It's Not a matter of gangs of guns wandering the streets of Washington D.C. Its a matter of gangs of people with evil intent. The police chief, assistant chief and mayor in D.C. want to get rid of guns. They've been trying to for thirty years, and they are still presiding over one of the most violent cities in the country. IF YOU DONT DEAL WITH THE CRIMINAL, THEN YOURE NOT DEALING WITH THE CRIMINAL ACTIVITY....its as simple as that

GUN CONTROL WORKS

Shotgun preteen vs. illegal alien Home Invaders: Butte, Montana November 5, 2007 Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two-story home. It seems the two crooks never learned two things: they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was nine. Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun. Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old's knee crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals. When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive. It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45 caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. That victim, 50-year-old David Burien, was not so lucky. He died from stab wounds to the chest. Ever wonder why good stuff never makes NBC, CBS, PBS, MSNBC, CNN, or ABC news........an 11 year old girl, properly trained, defended her home, and herself......against two murderous, illegal immigrants......and she wins, she is still alive. Now that is Gun Control ! AS i have said before... I DONT LIKE REPEAT OFFENDERS....I LIKE D E A D OFFENDERS

The Truth in Politics

Im looking for a politician that will look the ABC, NBC and CBS cameras in the eye and say.."well on the gun issue the word KEEP means "ITS MINE...YOU CANT HAVE IT" " the word BEAR means "yea i got one right here in my belt"...Thats what KEEP and BEAR means. And "Shall not be infringed" is another way of saying "Don't Tread On Me" I don't want to hear about watered down 2nd Amendment support, I want to hear some ABSOLUTISM! I want to hear where "We the People, have the RIGHT to Keep and Bear Arms on us, at our discretion, ANYWHERE, ANYTIME ANYPLACE we want. Currently PAROLED FELONS do ! Currently ALL THE BAD GUYS do ! we ALL know that. We the People have the right to Keep and Bear Arms anywhere anytime we damn well please.! I am a free man, I have the right to Keep and Bear Arms...PERIOD!!!! People have to get creative, people have to get aggressive and ultimately we cant rest until a politician admits that the existence of the 2nd Amendment IS the authorization to carry concealed weapons in America.

what do you believe?

I am A firm Believer in our 2nd Amendment right..The RIGHT to KEEP AND BEAR ARMS This means ANY arms...not JUST the ones THEY want us to have. he 2nd Amendment is so obvious to me it's insane that theres even an argument. I don't need a document, and I certainly don't need a man to explain to me that I have the right to defend my gift of life, and that theres an argument in America from Hillary Clinton , Barbra Boxer, Dianne Fife, Barrack Obama and a whole gaggle of Numb Nuts who would try to tell me THEY Will dictate to me WHERE, HOW and IF I can defend myself.I find that Preposterous and UNACCEPTABLE......and I wont accept it. I am a free man, DON'T TREAD ON ME!!! A good law abiding citizen NOT convicted of a felony or any other crime for that matter, The 2nd Amendment of our Bill of Rights IS my Concealed Weapons Permit..PERIOD! Limitations ?? This is what I feel the Limitations should be..... Instead of arresting someone for molestation 24 times, I would rather the dad walked into the room...found the person molesting that child and blew his brains out! I would rather the Lady in Massachusettes who was taking her daughter to soccer practice and was car jacked by a maggot who had been in and out of prison ALL his life, but was let out again because "we feel sorry for him"...or " maybe he had a bad childhood". Instead of her being carjacked and murdered I would rather she just shot the bastard DEAD!! BUT in Massachusetts somebody decided she can't do that! and now....SHE'S DEAD!! I would rather she was ALIVE and the car jacker was dead....I'M WEIRD !!! I would rather that the guy who beat this lady within an inch of her life in Waco, out on PAROLE was he (rolls eyes).... its phenomenal ...he had beat her within an inch of her life, in front of her Grand children, with a whiskey bottle, I would rather she fell to the ground, pulled out a .38 and shot him 6 times in the chest and killed him...AM I WEIRD???...Because the guy is going to get out AGAIN! I dont like REPEAT Offenders....I like DEAD Offenders

Ridiculous Policy

This little tid bit is about Donald Miller, a 14 year old High School Freshman in Millersville Pennsylvania was was BANNED FROM HIS CLASSROOM because he wore a T Shirt that pictured a firearm and included a mesage about fighting terrorism. Donald Uncle, who is now serving OUR country in Iraq, purchased the T Shirt at the Army PX Store~ as a gift for Donald just before he shipped out overseas. Needless to say Donald took a huge amount of pride in this special gift, a reminder of his uncle's service to America and his sacrifice for the causeof freedom. But when Donald wore his shirt to Penn Manor High School, he was ordered by his teacher, and then the school principal, to turn the shirt inside out so that the pro~freedom message could not be seen. Donald refused~~ and received school detention as a result. His family has filed a lawsuit and it will now be up to a judge to decide whether or not school administrators have the right to throttle Patriotism and free speech, and impose thier own anti~gun pollitcal agenda on students. IS THIS CRAZY OR WHAT ?? This sadly isn't the ONLY isolated episode..In fact it is just ONE MORE BLATANT example of the cultural war being raged against YOUR 2nd Amendment, not just in Congress and in the biased national media but in our very own backyards...schools....city council rooms and even in our churches. I APPLORE anyone who reads this....please consider joining the NRA and protect your God Given Right to Defend and PROTECT YOUR GIFT OF LIFE!!! Photobucket
