Well everyone I wanted to let you all know i am healing up well and doing pretty good. Its springtime here and nice warm weather. Hopefully we're done withj the cold drizzley weather till this fall. One canonly hope.
Well as most of you know, i'm a gunsmith, been so fer about 11 months or so now. But before that i use to do constrction with my father fer years too on and off. Well work has been kinda slow, so me and Dad have picked up a rather neat job renovating a old church right down the road from us that was estabilshed back in 1895. Thats back when they built em to last. Most of the wood in the framing of this church was from the original conctrution back in 1895. Its amazing to see the amout of craftmanship spent they did back then, without any powertools of any kind. Thats back when folks took real pride in thier work, exspecially for thier church. Nowadays you can go to alot of shody jobsites here all across the country and see the difference in the type of pride taken in the work produced nowadays. No wonder the housing market is at a all time low. They just dont make em like they use too.
Another goodthing i enjoy bout this job is its just me and my father working toghter. Like him i take pride in my work, he taught me all i know about construction. I'm good, but not as good as that 71 year old man. And because we're working on the Lords house, we're taking that extra time n care to do it as perfect as we can. And i am just really enjoying this time toghter with him, whos to say this might be our last big job toghter. So if it takes a little longer, i'm happy. It feels like oldtimes, just me n him like it use to be. I never realised how much i missed it.
