A Little Girl's Dream...

That was the question at today’s Women’s Fellowship Luncheon at a Church that I have been attending for the past 2-3 years. Well, to not misquote them, the entire question was:
“Share with the others what you ‘dreamed of being’or doing when you were a little girl.”
LOL… I had so many dreams as a child; after all, a child with a vivid imagination such as myself had many creative possibilities. One that I shared with them though was:
“My mother had been a Journalism and English major and has a passion to write. My father, a doctor, had a side interest of building computers and many electronic things. Since I was third grade, I remembered writing many creative stories and poems; many of them have been lost along the way. It has been a shame; however, during the last 3-4 years I have picked up the passion of writing blogs.”
The Associate Pastor sat next to me and said that I might have to explain blogging a little further. I asked, “Has anyone blogged?” Everyone around the table shook their head. One of them asked, “Is it like MySpace?”
“Well, not exactly. MySpace, CherryTap, Xanga and others are considered social sites where their is a mixture of bulletins, comments, pictures, and many means to connect with their friends and new friends via that site. Blogs, on the other hand, are like journalizing on the net.”
“Like a personal journal?”
“Well, sort of. I have more than 15 blog sites. I generally keep to a specific theme. One that I am currently working upon has a domestic violence, spiritual, and bluebonnet theme. Others have been focused upon things, such as my Guatemala Mission Trip, my Capstone course for my Criminal Justice degree, and so much more.”
The conversation then took off and one lady admitted that she might enjoy blogging and the Associate Pastor turned to her and said that she could take on the Church’s blog wherein we all laughed and she made motions shaking back and forth as if to say “not me”. In all honesty, though, from my observations, she would probably make a great blogger, if given the opportunity. I am thinking to myself though while the conversation took off…. “If only I could make money at doing what I have such a passion for. Some day, perhaps!!” LOL….
When you were little, what did you aspire to be or do??
