Ok. So. I have basic cable in my apartment for "free". Well I paid a lot of money for a flat panel HDTV and the analog cable channels look shitty. So I went to the cable company today, and spent an hour, getting an HDTV converter box thingy. I brought it home and hooked it up. No channels. I called the phone number and he told me to unplug it for 15 seconds and it would reboot. Well I had to leave for dinner. When I came home I expected channels. No when I get home I have to call them only to be told I needed to unplug it for 2 minutes. UGH! I unplug it and let it reboot. I have channels now, but they look absolutely horrible. They are grainy, there is squiggly lines, the picture fades in and out, etc. In the meanwhile the cable guy on the phone is trying to send a signal to the box and he keeps saying that the box is unresponsive. He keeps trying and nothing. So he tells me that he has to send a tech out to my apartment on SATURDAY AFTERNOON. Why not Friday? Why do I have to wait a whole day AND why do I have to give up my Saturday afternoon to wait for the cable guy to show up. I freakin' love the 1pm-5pm window I have to sit at home and stare at the walls while I wait for the cable guy to show up. He better be a hott cable guy or I'm going to be PISSED! haha. I will return this box if this picture is still shitty. And then I will go on the war path. I miss time warner cable back home. This mediacom bullshit is just that...bullshit.

[Edit]
The cable guy just left. He said that my outlet in my living room needs to be replaced. But the outlet in my bedroom is fine. So we ran my cable line from the bedroom into the back of my tv. Now the channels look so much better. He said he's going to talk to the leasing office about getting someone out here to replace the outlet so I don't have to do anything. I'm glad my tv looks better. Now I'm thinking about buying the $9 package with all the extra channels.
And since everything is done so much earlier than I expected, I can't decide what to do with my day. I can either go lay out at the pool or go run my errands. Hmm. Decisions...decisions....
