while i normally dun post more than one blog here on CT...i was having an interesting conversation which made my brain hungry.
so i felt the need of course to look some things up on one of those scholastic websites in order to see if schools have the ability to not only understand but groom and shape childhood identity.
other than their ability to state the obvious..."childen who feel worthy and capable are more likely to be optimistic and do well in school" it was quite lacking.
they used the term 'identity' too loosely. as if it only suggests if your parents didnt beat you and call you worthless and they werent discriminatory than you're a well rounded individual and should excel in everything. *shakes head*
if everything was that easy right?
sure in a pod person world...if we all did everything the house of they told us to do, we'd be financially stable thriving adults. not that i believe that for one nanosecond...but thats basically what they're saying.
racial identity...what the ass.
when i was a kid my mom was the poster parent for people are people no matter what they look like. and if a purple polka dotted person with a flaming orange tongue came up her...you bet your ass she'd talk to them.
sure its never that easy.
sure theres plenty of people who think people of different colors have different levels of intelligence and are morally corrupt and things of that nature...but im sure they were taught that warped sense of thinking by their own parents and those before them.
i lost my train of thought *sigh*
people were talking to me.
damn you!
damn you to hell!
yes thats a movie quote as well. deal with it.
i'll have to expound on this general idea at some other time...but it will definitely be revisited.
i think ive got ash up my left nostril.
ciao
