Sunset
That night i stood alone
watching the sky turn blood red
as the sun set down on me
for the last time
I looked down at my hands
beaten and bloodied
from a long life of work
and i bring them to my face
trying to wipe away the dirt and grime
trying to erase the years of pain
a single tear falls
clearing a path along my face
Drained of everything
numb except for pain and sorrow
lost within my own dreams
shattered and useless
I walked away not looking back
