the sky grows dark
the air becomes crisp
clouds form where there was once tranquility
first it is but a light and bearable drizzle
with a blink of an eye lightning illuminates
the sky briefly for as far as the eye can see
next reverberating through the air comes
thunder like an angry parent scolding a child
the downpour begins as if the a water main
has burst with what seems to be an endless supply of precipitation....
as violent as this storm is,
it is without rage, it is without malice, it is without fury, it is just nature
after hours of the lightning's random flashes,
and the thunder's subwoofer like vibrations
the storm dissipates from whence it came
sad to see it go as it was like a companion telling me
a fable chasing away the loneliness
rain
