This is primarily for my San Antonio area peeps:
The local newspaper geography gets a bit of a shake up this week. Come Thursday, the S.A. Express-News weekly Neighbors section will officially no longer exist. And my company, Prime Time Newspapers, will formally become the Hearst Corporation's primary weekly neighborhood/suburban reporting arm in the San Antonio area.
Our existing newspapers have redesigns and new tabloid sizes, starting Thursday. We are also launching Thursday two new weekly pubs - the Northwest Weekly, which covers the Leon Valley/Sea World/Helotes/UTSA quadrant; and North Central News, which pretty much goes up 281 from 410 to Stone Oak/north of Hollywood Park/Shavano Park and back down to Castle Hills.
It'll take awhile for all these papers to grow again advertising and editorial wise. But if you want to know what's going up or down in your suburb or side of S.A., your best bet will be a Prime Time paper. Hopefully we will live up to expectations, be it our own and those of our owners, clients and readers. So get yourself edu-ma-cated. I may just pull a pop quiz on ya to test your knowledge. We have an improving website at www.clickitsa.com. Otherwise, look out for your PT paper each Thursday either inserted in your home-delivered Express-News or at a public rack stand...someplace!
These next several weeks shall be interesting, challenging and hopefully fun for me and my colleagues. We welcome any feedback, negative and positive. Additionally, I seek to break away for extended frivolity from the Alamo City 2 or 3 times this fall. And I'm still aiming to get a new set of wheels very, very soon. Anyone liking a test drive in a browsed car or a full spin in the new auto had better line up for tickets! Or at least ask me to tag along with you for a night of drinking. Then I might just seriously consider you to be that "special passenger" of mine =P
