From time to time
A stranger appears
And presses a button
That starts emotions
Churning within us
But it’s not so much that person
As it is our interpretation
Of what they can mean to our Life
That makes our throat dry
Our speech hesitant
But worst of all
Makes us so very, very
Vulnerable
Happy Valentine’s Day
Yes it is a commercial Day to which Greeting Card Companies, Flower Shops, Bakery’s, Restaurants and Gift Boutiques prosper.
We are given choices.
One could choose to boycott Valentine’s Day. I could not argue with anyone on that it seems to be a day to which we treat those we love more special then on the day before or days after. Seems we have to look on a calendar to treat one another nicer and that should not be.
One could choose to shower their family, friends and lovers with gifts, cards, and warm wishes. That again I could not argue with. Loved ones should know how you feel however one day a year doesn’t make up for leaving dirty clothes and dishes scattered.
One could choose to do nothing. No cards, No Gifts, No Calls and No Letters.
However,
Of these choices one must look at themselves in the mirror and ask one question.
What am I going to choose to do?
Myself. I choose to be me. Not commercial, not because my neighbors do it, not because my friends do it, not because I received something from someone before I sent them something.
I choose to let those who hear from me daily. Those I call friends whom I never met, Whom I perhaps will never ever meet. Whom I cherish with regards as much as one can cherish without being deemed a Stalker…
You know the world turns at an alarming rate. People Die that we love and sometimes they die without knowing how much they have impacted our lives.
However those who have touched my life will never die without knowing they made a difference in my life.
Thank you for making a difference in my life.
On this Valentine’s Day you are loved, Cherished and thought of.
Have a fabulous Friday.
