I think a human tragedy is that we are self-centered. And we expect others to meet our needs, on demand. When we want something that another is unwilling to give us, we make them bad and wrong.
This tragedy explains virtually all human conflict and human pain.
I can live completely free of conflict and pain if I look only within myself for what I need. If I give joyfully, with no expectation of return or reward, experience teaches that I will BE joyful, and have everything I ever dreamed of, and more.
If I look to YOU for my fulfillment, and make you wrong when you don’t deliver, I give you my power. My joy is now dependant on YOUR actions and states of mind, instead of my own. And when you “fail” me, I will not only be unhappy, I will make you wrong and bad, and drive you away from me.
