Masterpeice
if you were to simply look around you,
take the time to see the things that i can see.
I wonder if you would cry like i have?
Would you need a shoulder to lean on,
like the one the mighty oak tree lent me.
Just before it was chopped down.
If you would sit still for a minute and listen,
do you think you would hear the song that the wind sings?
Would you let it caress your face gently,
like it did to me before they built the wall that blocked it from doing so.
If you could just have heard all the things i hear,
just from listening.
If your eyes could see through my eyes,
I would help you wipe the tears away.
If you could hear through my ears,
together we would make sense of it all.
The world a beautiful mastpeice,
destroyed by the hands of time.
Time takes all away,
learning to live within it,
impossible.
When the rains come a song can be sung,
for it to go away and come back another day.
Yet there are those that never seem to get it.
Laughter has faded,
covered by the sounds of endless wars.
Soldiers huddle now,
where children once played.
A masterpeice,
given to us from a beautiful artist.
A flawless one.
A gift,
a beautiful one,
destroyed,
by imperfect ones.
