Several local communities have declared states of emergency following Wednesday night's severe storms that brought heavy rain, hail and lightning.
Officials with Turtle Creek, Wilkinsburg, Forest Hills Borough, Reserve Township and Westmoreland County made the announcements both last night and this morning.
Those areas were left heavily damaged by the storms that moved through.
In Westmoreland County, several areas, such as Jeannette and Greensburg were left with a lot of flooding problems and damage.
Meanwhile, Forest Hills Mayor Ray Heller Jr. reported severe flooding, sewer back-ups and road damage across the borough.
The mayor says many Forest Hills residents were left without power and phone service.
Residents with an emergency are being asked to call 911.
Also, flooding and severe damage were reported throughout Wilkinsburg and Reserve Township following the storms.
The area in and around Turtle Creek and East Pittsburgh also had a ton of damage.
This morning, debris was left all along Electric Avenue including bricks, a large manhole cover and part of a chimney. All of it carried away by flood waters.
A part of a roof came off of a home and was carried by the waters a quarter mile down the road.
Also, several vehicles had to be cleared away after the flooding pushed them into homes along the street.
