At 10:30am I was on routine patrol in the west section of Pleasantville Co. when I was dispatched to 1427 Ridgeview Road. Upon arrival at 11:50am dispatch advised that Sgt. Senior was busy but that if I needed a coroner or a detective to radio him. At the residence Ms. Ida Williams met me at the front door and informed me that she had not seen her neighbor, Mr. Daniel Be-Old for four days and that she was worried about him. She then told me that he was a widower, he was 70 years old and he had recently been released from the hospital. I thanked her and asked that she wait for me to return. I then went to Mr. Be-Olds residence and noticed immediately that a car license number YBW 2245 NC State tags and a truck license number XTY 2231 also NC State tags were parked in his driveway. The yard needed to be mowed and upon further inspection I noticed that there was a John Deere lawnmower and expensive tools lying in the yard. I knocked on the door several times and no one responded so I then checked the home for forcible entry but the home and the tool shed were secure the blinds in the home were also closed. I got permission to enter the home with force and then called for Mr. Be-old and got no answer. I proceeded downstairs and walked through the kitchen noticed that there was spoiled food on the table. I then proceeded to the bedroom and noticed that the bed wasn’t made. I saw at this time a foot sticking out of the bathroom door and upon closer inspection noticed that is was Mr. Be-Old and he looked like he was deceased; he had no pulse, his body was discolored and he was lying face up. I believe that this is a natural death and I contact the coroner.
