This morning I posted a mumm asking,
"Do children belong on an adult site? Should FUBee's use their children to get points?"
Currently the vote is Nay: No, that's disgusting (71.4%) with 85 votes, to Yay: Sure, why not? (28.6%) with 34 votes.
Personally I tend to agree with the majority.
One person said it is no different from going into a bar with pictures of your children in your wallet. I think it depends on how you handle those pictures. If you show them to everyone you meet in that particular environment, in my opinion you are inviting harm to your children. A child molester is going to be a LOT more attracted to a someone they know has children who's parents are making them accessible. Having them in your wallet and not showing them around would be equivalent to keeping them in a family only folder. Only people you really know and trust get to see them. That's cool. If you have your kids in your main pic that is displayed to everyone, I think that is more akin to taking your kids into the bar with you. Some people do that too. Still not a healthy practice, imo.
One of the things that bothered me about this topic, as well as mumms in general is that people seem to think that if they do not agree with what's being said then they have some right to be abusive and make personal attacks. Of the most memorable thus far are those who seemed to think I should get over my desire to see children protected from harm; one who even went so far as to say STFU while displaying her cleavage and claiming to not be inviting people to perv... well not inviting them to perv on her kids anyway.
We all have the right to voice our opinions but nobody ever has the right to abuse others simply because they disagree.
It is naive to think that there aren't predators out and about looking for opportunities to perv on or do worse to our children. That's why most of the pics of my kids are in a Family Only folder, even though 2 out of 3 of them are Adults. The pic of my grandson, the only little one, you won't ever see displayed by me unless you are in my Family.
