I have been for the past few weeks picking up the slack from my co-workers getting sick and being out of the office. Starting last Thursday, we saw a significant portion of our staff being out of the office as a result of the flu and bronchitis going around.
So far, I have been immune from getting whatever has been going around and I have been strong and healthy through it all. (Knocking on wood!)
Last night though, I think my own supervisor jinxed me by telling me to make sure that no one coughed on me (because I am one of the few that have been coming into the office and picking up the slack while half the staff has been out sick). Ever since then, I started a light cough. First one was a joke to her pretending that I was getting sick; but, it is no joke this morning.
I haven't been able to stop coughing and, while I spoke to some friends after work last night, I found myself not being my normal self and staying up to the wee hours on CT, pogo, blogging on other sites, watching tv, cleaning house, and the like.
That is soooooo not like me being the night owl that I am and the kind of hours I am usually working at the office.
This morning, I could barely get out of bed. I have a sore throat, sneezing, heavy congestion, a bit of achiness, etc., but no fever, thankfully.
I don't get sick a lot. Fortunately, I do have some medicines in my cabinet so I have immediately taken some of those, especially the Tylenol Cold & Flu medicine from 2005.
If you don't see me much on CT in the next few days, it isn't because I don't want to be here, it is just that I am trying to take it easy and get a little more rest than usual. I have to work tonight, but I am off tomorrow. Because this is a part of a 3-wk paycheck, this is the third week of that 3-wk paycheck and I can afford to take it a little easier -- especially, after putting nearly 60 hours overtime in the last two weeks.
I was planning to go to the store today for a few things until payday on Thursday on my grocery list (mainly things like milk and eggs), but I think I will just stay home and get some rest so that I will be able to carry my load during my shift tonight.
In the meantime, if you want to send some TLC lovin' my way, I will not complain.
Love you all!!!
