 great news for my friends david and waldo. they are now safe and warm living in a home for veterans, david has a job and waldo has his own yard to run and play in. they stayed in a motel until today when Mr Harris of thr VGS (veterans support group) came and picked them up . he is a great man who cares about our veterans who are willing to lay down their lives for this country. i think it is appalling that this country does not take care of our veterans when they come home from war. if it wasnt for our veterans and those who died for all of us, we might be speaking german or some other language. but the group of people that i am affiliated with took action and made sure that they were not ignored any longer. david has been homeless for almost 30 yrs. well, not any more. and he is able to work and take care of himself and waldo , his furry friend who he would not abandon and go to the shelter, some will say that he chose to be homeless. and i guess that is true but the reason that he chose to not go to a shelter was because he is a man a values and he believes that pets are forever and not just until they are no longer cute or when they become to much to care for. i know alot of people who could learn something from david and what he did for his furry friend waldo, who is a really great dog i must add. anyone who wishe3s to follow their story is urged to come visit their page on FB. the link is posted in one of my other blogs about them. not only is he a hero for serving his country , he is also a hero in my eyes for not leaving his friend behind so that he could be warm and safe. i still cannot explain why i decided to help these two souls, like i have said , something inside me told me to do it, so i was compelled to help, along with a great group of others who came together and helped them. the outpouring of support for them is really touching and quite wonderful, it certainly renewed my faith in humanity. at least here in dallas. 2 weeks ago david and waldo had nothing but a back pack , a soggy blanket and some dog food that was all wet because3 of the rain, now because we didnt turn our backs and look away they have a new lease on life and a chance at making it ! sure is something to think about i think, dont you?  its funny how things happen in your life that seem to change it forever, i for one am changed by my experience in meeting them and being involved in helping them . the rewards are yet to come, i will update you all on how they are doing from time to time as i have gained a friend throughout all this in david, and waldo too. not to mention the others involved with helping. i have  great bunch of new friends who i cherish and i know would be there for me if i ever need help. and just think 2 weeks ago, we were all strangers and a man and his dog brought us together for a cause and changed our lives forever.
