When I see the ocean at sunset
Tossed waves of liquid gold
Quivering sparkles of glorious hues
I think of you.
You allowed me to slip into your waters
Gentle golden sprays as you splash
Do not speak of your power or strength
Nor of your depth
Your whispers beckoned me inside
You hold me weightless molding my trust
Swaying me back and forward
As your tide choses.
When I kick out and thrash around
When my limits are stretched and unknown
When I come back to stillness
You gently enfold me again
Yet I have barley felt your depths
Hardley begun to understand
Where the edges of your ocean lie
Still your patience endures
I paddle and bathe in the shallows
Watching the sunset spin gold from your majesty
Discovering as you allow, and wondering,
If I am warming your soul
