Uncertainty
Conflict springs eternal
between the mind and heart.
Weighing on my conscience
and tearing me apart.
Cerebral civil war,
dividing left and right
and I just can't decide
which side I think is right.
A tempting dilemma,
the choice that I've been shown.
Comfortable safety
or passion yet unknown.
Whatever I decide.
No matter which I choose.
However much I gain,
still more I stand to lose.
Engendered
Misunderstanding contrast
and perceiving opposition,
what should be complimentary
turns into competition.
No way to communicate,
the rhetoric is just too loud.
No way to strike a deal
when compromise is not allowed.
Any hope for a real connection,
plagued by cynicism and apathy.
Just battles in a cold war
that was never meant to be.
