There are days when I get very confused by obscure messages from friends, not that I have many and it is not a problem status for me either. One good friend etc. it is well worth sharing a pie with them in hand rather than spreading it too thin and only having a crumb of comfort left having shared it with say 20 in the bush.
So, I look at these things and see that they have too many friends to satisfy thoroughly which gets them off track so this is when I get strange messages because they have put their fingers in the wrong pie after chasing the only cherry left between the crusts. This is all well and good but they are similar to drunks talking to lamp posts however it has to be said that sometimes lamp posts can be more enlightening so maybe I should start talking to them instead and keep the pie all to myself. However, that makes me selfish and this is not the case at all because I love sharing things and I suppose that comes from being the middle child having to share with the eldest and when they have grown out of it sharing it with the youngest who has become old enough to enjoy just what I still enjoy. Finally when I am too old to enjoy it the whole things gets passed on but what of my older relative, do they feel hard done by having lost that part of their childhood that they can no longer get back.
Time moves on and then you graduate into the pie chart sector of life and this is when you get to appreciate that half a pie is better than a crumb and so you stay fulfilled and not scattered far and wide and too thinly.
At least I have learned that when something is obscure then there is no point make a song and dance about it but just accept that no one is perfect and hey, it did not hurt getting someone else’s crumb. However, sometimes when what is sent contains something unpleasant then it is disconcerting to say the least. Oh well, thank heavens for Delete buttons to protect my innocence and save a face.
If this makes sense then you are a better man than me Gungadin and if not then what does it matter because maybe the confusion caused by it will give an idea of the confusion I suffer in the course of a day.
