I saw on the profile of one of my newest fu-friends (Clover) a neat little graphic that mapped out which states in the US she’s visited. This was interesting to me because over my life thus far, I’ve actually visited a pretty good number of the states. See, I’m a Navy brat. My father served 12 years in the Navy (and another 20 years when that was done as a civil servant working for the Navy). Now, I’ve only lived in a couple of different states (born in California, and spent most of my life in Connecticut), but because he and my mom are both from the Midwest (Oklahoma and Kansas) I’ve actually done quite a bit of traveling visiting relatives by car most years.

I’ve hit part of the southwest while moving east from California. While growing up, my family hit a good deal of the tourist destinations between Connecticut and the midwest. We’ve also included trips to South Dakota for Mt. Rushmore, northern New England to visit friends from the two years my dad was stationed in Portsmouth, NH, and Florida to visit Mickey. :)
And as for having Michigan on my map? Well, I have some very “special” memories of Michigan. One time while flying from graduate school in western Ohio and home, I missed a connecting flight, and got to spend 3 quality hours wandering around the Detroit airport. If that doesn’t qualify me to say I’ve been to Michigan, then I don’t know what does! LOL!
Hope you all found this at least a little entertaining!
