as we go through our everyday lives, we pass people of different races, sexes, orientations, and religions. religion religion religion. the plague that has a way of infecting even those who seem the most immune. i have been on both sides of the belief line. and the most absolute truth that i have found is that there is no correct faith whether its even be a faith at all. what the fundamentalists and zealots cannot seem to understand is the simple fact that how can we as a flawed species know what is right for every living person? for as long as history as been recorded there have been wars over the question as to which god is the right one. and with all this bloodshed by people who claim to worship whichever peaceful god, how can anyone follow the words interpreted by these same self absorbed madmen?
the point i am trying to make is this; i don't care if you are the most devout christian, buddhist, jew, muslim, athiest or even wiccan, just because you believe it does not mean that it needs to be shoved down the rest of humanity's throat. what works for some people does not work for everyone. some can go along with blind faith, but others need something more tangible. some believe in a god and a predetermined fate that illeviates responsibilty, and others feel that all should be held accountable. to kill in the name of "god" is the greatest mistake we can ever make. which religion preaches the killing of those who don't agree? the one thing all the major monothesitic religions can agree on is that their god is a relatively peaceful one. and those who worship no god have yet to start a war over it.
it will truely be a relaxing day when i can open my mouth and talk about what i believe with someone who doesn't nessicarily agree without them swearing up and down that i'm wrong and i'll go to hell unless i repent. the irony is that they are the religious ones, who are suppose to love everyone, and they're yelling at me, and telling me not to get offended. but such is life.
