VT reopened the west wing of the second floor of Norris Hall yesterday in ceremony...one of the teachers that died in the brutal murders husband will be in charge of the new area opened in honor of those that died and where his wife saw her last moments of life...I can only hope that his dedication to life and learning and his will to teach that, can endure the thoughts that will surely overcome him from time to time...
Sometimes through tragedy we learn the heroic nature of many people...
My thoughts go back to the holocaust survivor and his sacrifice...he held the door while his students escaped through the window...Liviu Lebrescu was his name...he was a Romanian born Jew that gave his life on the observed Holocaust Day in Isreal...
I rededicated this writing of mine I had written in honor of someone that saved my life while making the ultimate sacrifice a couple years ago, to Mr. Lebrescu's wife...
Are You The One?
Are you the one that's left behind
To search every face in hopes to find
That true love that is now so elusive?
For the one that's gone and on you live?
Every smell, every sight constantly reminding
You of the love so bright, so blinding?
Are you the one that time now tortures?
Nights so long--memory scorches...
Are you the one whose world's torn apart?
Wonder now why you even have a heart?
Are you the one for their life given?
Wish you could just slip into oblivion?
Are you the one that squeezes their pillow?
Knees get weak and sway like willow
At the thought of the loss, the dreams escaped?
Are you the one that longs for one one last taste
Of the intoxicating gaze of your lost love?
Rest only comes knowing that from above
You're being held in your love's embrace...
it is time to reoccupy the space...the void that has been left by the absence of such great influences in our lives...and let this season remind us of the One that made the most precious sacrifice of all that we may live eternally...
