Spaghetti with Bacon and Olive Oil
Bacon and Parmesan cheese are wonderful over pasta, and this simple recipe will have a delicious dinner on the table in no time. If you've got a fruity extra-virgin olive oil on hand, use it here to drizzle over the cooked spaghetti -- you'll taste the difference.
Servings: 4 to 5
Ingredients:
* 1 (16-ounce) package spaghetti
* 8-10 slices bacon
* 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic
* 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
* 2 tablespoons olive oil
* Salt to taste
Directions:
Cook the spaghetti according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon and drain on paper towels. Drain most of the fat out of the pan, but leave any remaining bacon bits. Crumble the bacon slices.
Add the garlic to the pan and cook for about 30 seconds. Pour the spaghetti in the pan and add the crumbled bacon, olive oil and Parmesan cheese.
Toss well to coat the spaghetti. Add salt to taste.
