Ok, this is not a poem, but the journal entry I left at the Inn 7 friends and I stayed at in June to celebrate all of us turning 40 this year. Pics are in travel section. Wonderful place & great innkeepers!
SPOILED ROTTEN AT 10 FITCH
The word “accommodations” will forever be changed in scope and meaning thanks to Cheryl and Sally bestowing hospitality with the grace and speed of fluttering humming birds giving each bloom equal care. These 8 blooms named Jen, Linda, Jessica, Cheryl, Maribel, Trish, Kris and Maria, were spoiled rotten by 10 Fitch’s unsurpassed attention to detail.
Fresh flowers, lush gardens, and a Bed & Breakfast no decorator could match were weaved into a braid of genuine warmth, colorful original designs, and supreme comfort. Our mental scrapbooks are now bursting with the seamless additions of priceless keepsakes called 10 Fitch memories.
Our camera memory cards were quickly eclipsed by our mental shutterbugs now crawling with giggles, soul stories, and the ultimate game of catch; catching up. Indoor and outdoor backdrops alike are nothing short of paintings come to life rivaled only by the culinary creations that were dressed to the nines for every meal. And our external excursions were as tastefully prepared as any 5-star menu.
From dinner at Lasca’s to shopping in Skaneateles (pronounced “skinny atlas”); from inventive hors d’oeuvres to bone melting massages, and don’t forget about the cozy fire pit. From never-ending smiles at breakfast to the pinnacle of a 6-hour limo tour courtesy of Sam’s knowledgeable friendliness.
On this ride we picked up souvenirs of a different sort, as they cannot be purchased. First there was Mackenzie-Childs with the house that imagination built, then a picnic with a variety of tasteful treats like candy falling from a piñata; Long Point and King Ferry wineries tickling our taste buds, and the last stop at Taughannock Falls burning breathtaking images on our thirsty retinas.
On the eve of our departure, Cheryl and Sally took great care to celebrate all of our 4 decades with festive decorations, a really scrumptious cookout, and a thoughtful gift. As we share our final breakfast, we know there will be leftovers of memories to last a lifetime. For if home is where the heart is, then 10 Fitch will now be sprinkled all over New Jersey with the girls who were spoiled rotten at 10 Fitch.
