On the whole seeing the world thing. Whenever we go out on deployment we got to places we call liberty ports. Different countries, but dont think that youll be there for a couple of weeks having fun. Nope 3 or 4 days max with duty on one of those days. hell ive been to Japan, China, Malaysia, and Australia, just enough time to get drunk have a little fun, then leave. take some pictures to show the family back home, and thats about it. the entire other time your out to see working 12 to 18 hour days with shitty fucking food and shitty fucking people. the Navy is obsolete. they want to keep building up and up more ships more people more planes and more helicopters. who the fuck else in the world has a navy like ours. we have more aircraft carriers than any other country in the world. sure they are cool and can take squadrons of fighters anywhere in the world. but do we really need fucking 13 of them holy shit. then add all the numerous support ships and we have a navy thats too fucking big. dont get me wrong i love my country and i love my job just dont like the navy.
the fucked up think is that you dont really get the chance to have a real family. sure you get to see them every once in a while but then holy fucking shit back out to sea for 6 to 8 months. we arent always out to sea we have shore duty every few years, but then you have to drag your family all around the states and the world. anyways thats my view on it. fucking sucks.
