The sword of truth
I have a sword named truth
without a hilt.
A bare blade with neither,
remorse or guilt,
as dangerous to the wielder,
as to the victim.
I have a dagger called clarity
A naked blade
Sharp on both ends.
I cannot reveal you,
without exposing me.
I have a shield named denial.
transparent and diaphanous.
No protection
blinding and binding,
to me alone
I wear armor named ego.
Of pride unfounded
caustic and unproven.
odorous and annoying.
easily dented.
Thus girded for war,
I'll surely be smitten.
For it is written.
upon the sword named truth
