Twisted thoughts of rape on the first date
Lost promises and misforgotten chivalry
Chilling cries that are no longer heard
Helping another is now such a burden
We go on with our lives without a care
It is more than any of us can bear

But the truth is that we are digging a ditch

We best learn to abide
By the rules that we so wrongly break
