Those shorter men!

I love the article posted below. No, I don't have any complex about my height. 5'6 isn't that short but in our society, most women prefer taller men than themselves. That is alright, as I have been fortunate to know those women in the minority who don't care or believe that they are worth the climb! ********************** Want a husband who’ll stay? – better marry a shorter guy. From the Times, London, May 2001. Taller the man, more likely he’ll stray, study finds. LONDON- Women who want a faithful husband should think small because tall men are more likely to divorce and remarry, research has found. A 50-year study of graduates from the United State’s most prestigious military academy has shown that taller men are more likely to stray as they get older, and to replace their partners with a younger model. Tall men also tend to father more children, largely though starting two or more families with different women. The study, the first details of which are published today in NEW SCIENTIST magazine, analyzed the class of 1950 from West Point military academy in upstate New York. The findings suggest that the allure that tallness holds for women has a hidden string, because it gives a man more opportunity to stray. “The more attractive a man is, the more chance he gets to destroy his first marriage,” said one of the researchers, Dr. Allan Mazur or Syracuse University in New York. “Tallness is pretty much universally attractive. I don’t know why.” Other studies have suggested that tall men are more successful in the workplace, and that they appear more intimidating to potential aggressors. Mazur, however, said that the advantages of tallness might be imagined rather than real and that women might not be making a logical decision by preferring taller men. The tendency of tall men to have more children may also result in an evolutionary trend because height is 3estimated to be about 90 per cent inherited. There is, however, one group of men who seem to defy the theory. A short Hollywood actor is no more likely to be faithful than a tall one. While diminutive characters such as Michael J. Fox (5’5”) and Mel Gibson (5’8”) are happily married to their first wives, Dudley Moore (5’2”) has four divorces to his name, and Dustin Hoffman (5’5”) and Anthony Hopkins (5’7”) are both on their second marriages. Among taller men, the 6’4” Liam Neeson has been married to his first wife, Natasha Richardson, since 1994, and Arnold Schwartzneggar (6’2”) is also on his first marriage. Jeff Goldblum (6’4”), however, is twice divorced, and Sean Connery (6’2”, Clint Eastwood (6’3”) and Jeremy Irons (6’5”) are married to second wives.
