found out today that the VGS(veterans support group) is going to help david and his dog waldo, this is great news . it is amazing what can be accomplished in such a short amount of time when people ban together for a cause. they will be providing shelter and a place for waldo to run and play and help david get a job so he can support himself and waldo, they will also see to his medical needs amd get waldo vetted, which hasn't been done in a long time i am sure. things like this make me realize why i do what i do , it makes it all worth while, just being able to help save animals and people in need leaves me feeling pretty good and keeps me motivated to keep on keeping on. what a great group of people i have met through my page! i am proud to know all of them. it gives me renewed belief in people.so many people would have just looked the other way due to their own lifes problems and not given a second thought to a homeless man and his dog. after all, they have become almost a staple on every street corner across america and people do not even notice them. i hope this motivates someone to do as we did and turn towards them instead of away, had we done that we never would have known that david served this country and was willing to die for all of us, only to return home to be left on the streets and not cared about, dis guarded like yesterdays trash. he is not trash , he is a hero in my opinion and he deserves so much more than his life has given him. my life is so much better for meeting him and his dog waldo. they have inspired me to do things that i never thought i would do. so next time you see a homeless person on the corner, mabe take a few minutes to speak to them or buy them a cup of coffee and you might just find, as we did, that there is a great person inside who was cast out by our own govt, after being so willing to lay down his life for all of us.
thanks for reading my blogs, i am just a simple person who is trying to do something good with my life.
