WONDERLAND
Buried alive
in your own mind.
Dig it up and shove it down.
Swallow whole the sediment,
after riding the river rapids of colorless thought.
Into the rabbit hole you go.
But not just sliding on the curves;
Ricocheting off the right angles of conflict.
You attempt a quick move to the left
And a desperate search for any and all crevices
Has your digits doing their best talon imitation
But you are then viciously jerked back to the right
where
Touching bottom leaves you instantly bereft
As you discover your imagined plight was motionless
Do you cover your eyes with your hands?
To the subtle hues whispering in the back of your mind
Or do you slap yourself to see where truth stands?
