SAN FRANCISCO -- Collin Cowgill toppled Tim Lincecum and the San Francisco Giants with heart and hustle. Wholesale Super Bowl Jerseys . Maybe a little muscle, too. Cowgill drove in the go-ahead runs and scored in a home plate collision with Lincecum, and the Oakland Athletics snapped an 11-game losing streak in San Francisco with a 6-2 victory Sunday. "Hallelujah," As manager Bob Melvin said. "I was only here for two of it and I was already tired of hearing about it." Now, what Bay Area fans will talk about is how the streak ended. Cowgill capped a four-run fourth inning against Lincecum with a collision that put a scare into San Francisco and its struggling, shaggy-haired ace. Generously listed at 5-foot-11, 175 pounds, Lincecum tried to block the plate after a wild pitch, taking a helmet to the face and falling backward when Cowgill slid into him headfirst to score from second. Lincecum (2-4) gave up five hits and four runs in four innings to push his ERA to 6.04. He hasnt won since April 28 at San Diego. "Im trying to be safe and hes trying to get me out. Thats the quickest way I could get in there," Cowgill said. "People say, Dont slide headfirst into home. But I think that was the only way I had a chance right there." Josh Reddick hit his 11th home run to back Bartolo Colon (4-4) and give Oakland its first regular-season win in San Francisco since 2008. Colon struck out seven and walked two in five innings. He allowed two runs and six hits and wiggled out of a bases-loaded jam in the fifth with a pair of strikeouts. Four relievers kept San Francisco scoreless over the final four innings, including Ryan Cook, who pitched the eighth to extend his scoreless streak to 20 2-3 innings to start the season. San Franciscos feel-good weekend fizzled in the finale. Angel Pagan doubled leading off the second to extend his hitting streak to 11 games. Pagan, who has a hit in 31 of his last 32 games, scored on Joaquin Arias sacrifice fly to put the Giants ahead. After Brandon Crawford walked in the third, Melky Cabrera singled for the first of his four hits. Buster Poseys sacrifice fly extended San Franciscos lead to 2-0. "You really had to fight that feeling of, here we go again," Melvin said. Instead, Lincecums latest outing started strong but unraveled fast. After five strikeouts in the first three innings, he walked Daric Barton to load the bases with one out in the fourth. Kurt Suzuki followed with an RBI single and Cowgills two-run single gave Oakland its first lead of the series, 3-2. Oaklands fill-in centre fielder also handed San Franciscos suddenly shaky ace even more trouble. Cowgill hustled from second after Lincecums wild pitch and headed home when the ball squirted away from Posey near the backstop. As Lincecum blocked the plate and waited for Poseys toss, the rim of Cowgills helmet hammered him in the face, sending the pitcher tumbling backward, legs bent, in a scene that brought back memories of Poseys season-ending collision last summer with the Marlins Scott Cousins. "That was a pretty good shot," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said of Lincecums levelling. Lincecum lost the ball, and Cowgill scored to put the As ahead 4-2. Giants trainer Dave Groeschner and Bochy rushed out of the dugout to look at Lincecum, who said he mightve hyperextended his left thumb. He walked around gingerly for several minutes, finished the inning and was lifted for pinch-hitter Nate Schierholtz in the bottom of the fourth. With a runner at first, Schierholtz popped out. "It rattled me a little bit, just the collision, nothing else," Lincecum said. "My thumb got caught. I had him if I hold onto the ball." Oakland had been scoreless in the 15 previous innings and didnt waste its first lead. Colon pitched out of a bases-loaded jam in the fifth by striking out Pagan and Brandon Belt looking. The final strike against both came on a two-seam fastball that zipped back over the middle of the plate. Reddick ripped a 90 mph sinker from Shane Loux over the 399-foot sign in centre in the seventh. The two-run shot extended Oaklands lead to 6-2, and about the only drama left on a sun-soaked afternoon was listening to Cowgill endure boos from the fans each time his name was announced. The As ended their longest losing streak in one stadium since dropping 12 in a row at Milwaukee from 1992-95. NOTES: Oakland slugger Manny Ramirez was scratched from Triple-A Sacramentos lineup with a sore left wrist after he went 0 for 4 with three strikeouts Saturday night in Albuquerque, N.M. Melvin said it was a precautionary move and Ramirez expects to play Monday. ... Giants 3B Pablo Sandoval (broken bone in left hand) and 2B Ryan Theriot (right elbow inflammation) will rehab in Arizona while the team travels to Milwaukee for a three-game series starting Monday. He was limited during drills in the off-season and wasnt allowed to practice when training camp opened on Friday. Wholesale Super Bowl 47 Jerseys . The classy Ottawa Senators captain unleashed a tirade during Mondays Game 6 loss unlike anything seen during his previous 1,240 NHL games. ASHBURN, Va. -- Washington Redskins receiver Pierre Garcon and safety Brandon Meriweather are unlikely to play again this week, postponing their return until after the bye. Garcon did not practice Wednesday as the team began workouts ahead of Sundays game against the Carolina Panthers. He has missed five of the last seven games with a torn toe ligament in his right foot. "Its getting better with the time off," coach Mike Shanahan said. "But my mindset is probably after the Carolina game." Meriweather, who has yet to play this season, was limited in practice with sprained ligaments in his left knee and is a "long shot" to take the field against the Panthers, according to Shanahan. Meriweathers return cant come soon enough for the Redskins, who have the worst pass defence in the NFL. "Its very hard to sit back and watch," Meriweather said, "knowing theres nothing I can do to help my team." The Redskins have next week off before returning to host the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 18. Shanahan said he has yet to hear from the NFL office concerning a possible punishment for DeAngelo Hall over the cornerbacks tirade toward an official in the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The coach doesnt think Hall will be suspended for the Carolina game now that this weeks practices are under way. "They wouldnt let somebody practice a full practice if theyre going to be suspended for this weeks game," Shanahan said. "At least I dont believe its evver happened before. Nike NFL Jerseys. " Shanahan said linebacker London Fletcher practiced without limitation, even though the team still isnt sure what caused the balance issues that prompted the team to order neurological testing last week. Doctors were able to rule out a concussion, allowing Fletcher to play against the Steelers in his 232nd consecutive game. Fletcher also has a nagging right hamstring injury and says he wasnt 100 per cent against Pittsburgh. Hes not sure how much, if any, the balance issue affected his play. "Any time youre dealing with something thats not just a muscle or something like that, with balance or things where youve got to take neurological tests, sure its scary," he said. "So I would be lying if I said it wasnt on my mind. ... You never know. You try to block those things out when the ball is snapped." Also at less than 100 per cent is punter Sav Rocca, who has torn meniscus in his right knee. The right-footed Rocca says the injury has some effect on the power he puts behind the ball. "Its not necessarily the punt itself, but more so the approach," Rocca said. "And any running or walking I do, I can feel it." Rocca said the injury had nothing to do with the 12-yard punt in the first half that helped set up a Steelers field goal, but Shanahan suspects otherwise. "Anytime you have a punt like he did, you know its bothering him a little bit," Shanahan said. "But he had a good practice today." ' ' '
