The road stretched out before me,
As deftly I drove, through fields and upon hills,
My conveyance stridently rolled, towards destiny,
Whilst my mind, it reeled, suffused with romance,
Onward, towards a mind and heart,
Which healed, towards a fate, so eager to be revealed,
Like a hidden treasure, forever buried,
Yet unsealed,
The miles passed like a whisper, taken gently by the wind,
As thoughts of endless possibilities,
Sang out loudly within,
I turned round a corner, journey nearly complete,
Found that place, where we would first meet,
Two eyes low did inspect me, behind a veiled screen,
Rose with youthful vigor and vanished,
As I alighted my conveyance, crossed the distance between,
Suddenly before me, stood a woman glowing,
So fair and so true, ‘Twas in that moment,
That I surrendered forever to you.
