Amongst the shadows, form sunken,
Into the empty embrace of a worn but pedigreed throne,
I sat low, My soles tickled by the shag below,
My shoulders, thrust forward, they balanced my torso,
I gazed out, into a room filled, myriad objects,
Myriad beams of sunkissed dust,
Sparkled bright, yellow brick roads, devoid of rust,
Pierced the shadows cast by the cacophony, so bright,
Then along came skipping,
A being so innocently right,
Gentle and true,
Her hair like fire, her stride in bloom,
With eyes like saucers, verdant oceans that view,
She paused still before me and gazed deep into my soul,
She suddenly embraced me and held me whole,
It was then that she whispered, low and verily,
“I love you”,
As I held her steadfastly to me.
