Getting Back To What Makes It Real...
Okay...so something several non-artists don't know is that in general, any artist of any genre and of any type (music, writing, fine arts, crafts, etc.) is pretty much crazy. Holy Hell...
I'm so glad that I got my income tax money back. The same day I got the money credited into my account I get a post card from my eye doctor letting me know it was time for my check up. Today was the big day, lol. I get there right on time and have to rush through all the paper work, since it'd been 2 years since I'd have my eyes looked at. Thank God they didn't have to give me the dilating eye drops because I had to drive myself there. Anyway, I talked to her about this "twitch" thing I have with my eye and she said my eye was normal, lol. BUT if I ever had pain, redness, or any other part of my face went numb to call her and she'd look at me. Good to know. Time for the grand total of my visit. Ready? [gives you time to brace yourself] My glasses, alone, were $148.00, then I had to pay another $90 for some damn coating on each lens. I don't remember everything else I was charged for, and I'm not going to go get my receipt. But my grand total today was near $400.00.Her

So the other night I had a dream that included a friend on fubar that I consider to be very near and dear to my heart. What I can remember about it was that him and I were on some type of game/reality tv show kind of like The Power of Truth. Failure...
Today I feel like a complete failure as a parent. My son is not thriving in the first grade and I can't help but take it personal. I do what I can at home. We practice handwriting, math, reading...and at home he's brilliant...but at school, he just doesn't care so he refuses to do any work. I'm at a complete loss for what to do anymore. I've failed him somewhere...I had to sit and listen for an HOUR about how terribly he does any work at school. Not one single assignment in the last few months was done to completion and he got 0/100 on a prep exam for standardized testing. I'll figure it out...I always do...for the meantime, I just wanted to vent a little..whine to an audience that doesn't have a choice.

Bbq Lime Pork Chops
BBQ Lime Pork chops 4 boneless center cut pork chops Marinade 1/3 cup Nellie & Joe's Key West Lime Juice 2 tablespoon cider vinegar 1 tablespoon honey 1 teaspoon lime zest Salt and pepper Lime slices Mix the marinade in a large zip lock bag or in a shallow glass dish. Reserve ¼ cup of the marinade. Add pork chops to the marinade, coat the chops on both sides. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Heat BBQ to medium heat. Brush chops with reserved marinade and grill turning once. Cook for approximately 10 minutes on each side or until no longer pink. Place on platter and garnish with lime slices.

Key Lime Lobster Enchilada
Key Lime Lobster Enchilada 1 large onion, chopped 2 sweet peppers, chopped 3 garlic cloves, minced 4 ounces olive oil 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste 3 (6 oz.) cans tomato pureé 6 cups water ¼ teaspoon oregano 4 bay leaves 3 tablespoons Nellie & Joe's Key West Lime Juice 4 tablespoons cider vinegar 6 steamed lobster tails Sauteé sweet peppers, onion and garlic in olive oil until golden. Mix tomato pureé, tomato paste and water; add to onion mixture. Add oregano, bay leaves, Nellie & Joe's Key West Lime Juice and cider vinegar and cook over low heat for 1 hour. Cut lobster tails into bite-sized pieces and add to mixture. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook until sauce thickens. Preheat oven to 375°. Soften the tortillas and roll tortilla into enchiladas, filling each with about 3 tablespoons of lobster mixture. Bake enchiladas for 8-10 minutes until cooked, but not crisped. Remove and serve two per person, covering each portion with plenty of sauce.

I am offically Aunt Cole! That said...the story of Hayden Maie's begining is...hmmm. Odd lol. My little sister Courtney found out she was pregnant a few months ago and she was almost 5 months along at that time. They gave her a due date of March 31st. Sunday night, after the Super Bowl, she was bleeding a little, by the time they got her to the hospital, her water had broke. Scary! Being that she wasn't at her due date. They took her by ambulance to another hospital that had a NICU. Horrible nurses, but the NICU is awesome. We were not very pleased with the care my sister got while on the maternity floor. Our sister Jesi and I, and her boyfriend and his mother Jo'el stayed with her night and day. Yesterday evening, she started to experience more pain then she had ever had. Honey Lime Chicken Wings 25 chicken wings (tips removed) 1/3 cup honey 3 tablespoons Nellie & Joe's Key West Lime Juice 1½ tablespoons lime zest 3 garlic cloves, pressed or minced 1 teaspoon garlic salt 1 teaspoon onion salt 1 teaspoon dried parsley 1 teaspoon dried coriander Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste Olive oil Preheat oven to 375°. Mix garlic salt, onion salt, parsley and coriander together in a small dish. In a large ziplock mix together honey, Nellie & Joe's Key West Lime Juice, lime zest and fresh garlic. Put chicken wings on baking pan. Pour olive oil onto wings and rub well into wings. Rub in salt and sprinkle pepper. Bake for 30 minutes, or until nice and crispy. Remove from overn and shake chicken wings in Ziplock to coat.

What Has Been Happening In My Life
OK it has been a while since I blogged but things have been crazy here. We found out last fall that Soldier Boy will be deploying this summer. I adopted my 2 grand daughters so they are now our daughters. I finished my theology courses and now I have my doctorate degree. I am taking certification classes to be an Interior Designer and also taking Art classes. I do not have alot of time to get on the computer anymore with all the work I have to get done. Shrimp And Avocado Salad
Shrimp & Avocado Salad 2 tablespoons Nellie & Joe's Key West Lime Juice 3 cups shrimp, boiled, peeled and deveined 2 tablespoons flour 2 tablespoons milk 2 tablespoons butter ¼ tablespoon salt Dash of pepper ¼ Worcestershire sauce 2 tablespoons pimento, chopped 2 tablespoons olive, chopped 3 ripe avocados Marinate shrimp in Nellie & Joe's Key West Lime Juice in the refrigerator until ready to assemble salad. Melt butter and add flour, blending well. Add milk gradually and cook until thick and smooth, stirring constantly. Add salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, pimento, olive and shrimp; stir to blend. Cut avocados in half and remove pit. Fill center with shrimp mixture. Chill and serve.

Tandoori Chicken
Tandoori Chicken courtesy Sandra Lee Ingredients 8 chicken thighs 1 1/2 cups plain yogurt 2 teaspoons garam masala 2 teaspoons paprika 1 teaspoon minced ginger 1 teaspoon crushed garlic Directions Rinse and pat dry chicken thighs. In a large bowl, combine the remaining ingredients and stir until smooth. Add thighs and make sure they are coated. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 2 to 3 hours, preferably overnight. Set up grill for indirect cooking over medium-high heat. Oil grate when ready to start cooking. Remove chicken from refrigerator and let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. Cook 40 to 45 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 180 degrees F. Check for doneness by cutting into thigh to make sure there is no redness near bone. NOTE INDOOR GRILLING: Prepare chicken as directed. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Roast in preheated oven on foil lined baking sheet for 30 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 180 degrees F

Vanilla Popcorn Ingredients 1/4 cup corn oil 1 (4 inch) vanilla bean, split lengthwise 3/4 cup unpopped popcorn 1 tablespoon sugar 2 tablespoons butter, melted Salt to taste Cooking Instructions Heat corn oil in a large pot over medium-high or high heat for a minute. Add one kernel of popcorn to the oil. When the kernel pops, pour in the remaining popcorn and the vanilla bean. Place a lid on the pot, and shake gently until the corn starts to pop. Shake vigorously until the popping subsides. Remove from the heat, and pour into a large bowl. Remove the vanilla bean from the corn. Scrape seeds from the vanilla bean, and mix with sugar. Stir sugar, melted butter and salt into the corn until evenly coated, and serve.

Winter Cant Last Forever

OK! This is going to be a rant type of blog. I went to the Dr. about the HORRIBLE pain I've been having in my back. I'm only 33 and feel like I'm 53 cuz of it and I can't sleep either! WELL...I thought it was my kidneys and something that could be taken care of. It's not. :( It goes back to 2002 and 2003 when I was in two car accidents. I rotated my hip and messed up my back and neck. Well, this past christmas I was going christmas shopping with my daughter and fell on ice. Which reinjured everything. I NOW HAVE CHRONIC BACK AND NECK PAIN. The pain is horrible. I'm now to take 800mg Ibruprofen for 3 times everyday and a muscle relaxer Flexeril and use heating pads on it. It sucks. Almost wish it was my kidneys. :( I go back on the 16th for a fasting blood test to make sure they didn't miss anything. THEN had to go to the grocery store after the Dr. that was a damn job for a family of 6! When I got home I had to carry in all the damn groceries and put them away.

I have been reading certain mumms on this and that. And it amazes me how stupid some of them are. Alright, so for most of my adult life I've driven without a license. To me, it's no biggie considering some of the OTHER crap I've been arrested for and with the Ohio court systems, once they have you...they keep you. Well, I just bought a second car that I can use during the salty winters and said to myself: "Self, you're getting old. Maybe you SHOULD get your license back." So, I called up the BMV to see what my past fines were. Luckily, only about 500$ but I'd need the local courts to give me something called "proof of forfeiture" or something. So I called up the clerk of courts, and they told me I only had about 500$ in fines as well. Sweet, since I thought it'd be a couple grand. But THEN, I was informed I had a bench warrant out for my arrest... FROM 2004!!!!!! *sigh* Ohio courts suck ass. They say "crime doesn't pay" but I swear going legit robs you blind.......

In this one, a girl thinks she's a cyborg and so gets locked up in a mental institution and starts to slowly starves herself to death. And it's absolutely delightful. And in this one, the kid from 'Third Rock From The Sun' solves a mystery about a dead girl like he is some kind of film noir detective, only he is at high school. It, too, is brilliant.

My Wednesday
Today I met up a friend, Sara and got to meet her new baby who is 7 weeks old. Also met up with a friend that I haven't seen since Elementary School. Had lunch at Sharies then went over to Sara's place for a while, chatted, played a board game and played with the baby. Later on in the evening, I went to a concert. Cradle Of Filth was the main group playing and they totally kicked ass. The other two weren't so bad. It was Satyricon and Septic Flesh. I got one of their autographs. Yay! I stayed mostly up in the balcony but when Cradle played, I went in towards the mosh pit. I was trying to get closer photos taken, some dude saw me trying to take pics and he offered me to stand in front of him up front. He actually put his hands on my waist for a bit....ha ha ha ha...Took a few pics, said thanks and I moved out of the way. Did some moshing, head banging and stuff... Since when has it become acceptable to blame things that you have done on substances like alcohol and drugs? I know most people don't think anything of it but if all of the people that cause drama and bullshit just stopped drinking or getting blazed, then there would be a lot less? My female Husky 3 yrs old wakes up and gasps for air. She's very athletic and doesn't have problems running and playing. But when she wakes from a nap especially if startled, she gasps or coughs. kinda makes a noise and action like a horse "phhh". I've been told stuff like allergies and such. Any input would be appreciated. Like I said I can't afford to chase shadows. Update. I'm more worried about her bloody diarrhea now. last time she had this it cost me $900. in vet bills. One Year Ago........
In a few days it will be the anniversary of my first miscarriage in 2008. I am upset anyway because really want another baby, but I was thinking a couple nights ago, for lack of anything else to do. That baby was due Sept. 17. I lost the second one in a few days before Halloween. When I counted back, I noticed that Sept 17 was the day I most likely became pregnant. A little weird, huh?
