Yesterday
Yesterday ended up being much longer than I originally anticipated. We took off late due to deicing and I already had a slim amount of time before I had to catch my next flight on the layover. Well between getting in 10 mins late, waiting to get off the plane, and taking the amtrak to the next concourse, I was late to my connection (I wasn't the only one). So I kept my composure and the lady swapped airline carriers. I had just under an hour to take the amtrak over to the otherside of the airport to catch that flight. Took an hour flight from dallas to houston and had just 45 mins again to get from that flight to my connecting. In the hustle and bustle of things, it's hard to stay in or keep a perspective. In as much as it is possible we all try to keep a sense of direction, usually hindered or helped by the circumstances that define our daily lives. I took this book with me that my broker loaned to me. It's called "The 12 second sequence" and it gives you exercises to do. The premise behind this book is that instead of doing a lot of reps of the same exercise, you only do one or two reps, but take 10 seconds to complete it, then squeeze for two seconds, then take 10 seconds to lower back to start. Sounds easy, right? HA! Holy guacamole, doing this kind of repetition had my body SHAKING, on the way up AND on the way down of each exercise. A sealed envelope - Put in the freezer for a few hours, then slide a knife under the flap. The envelope can then be resealed. So last night my stepdad got the bright idea to sell the car. Now I have to find away to go to an appointment tomorrow and to bowling. I'm pretty sure Jeremy will pick me up..but he's not on to ask, lol. If he can't....I have no idea what I'm going to do. I guess just call them and tell them I won't be there. I haven't bowled in 2 weeks, so who knows how I'm gonna do. Today we had a really bad wind storm. The power line between our house an another one had sparks flying out of it, our flag pole almost blew down, and our power went out a few times. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to be on or not. I don't know what I would have done if we ended up with no electricity, lol. I would have been bored out of my mind. They still say that the wind is going to be strong and it could still possibly knock out power to more "customers". My luck we will lose power tomorrow, my only day off, lol.

The Monster In The Sock Drawer
I don't know what it is about my sock drawer, but it seems to eat things at random. I've lost jewelry, bills, and kinds of other miscellaneous things inside of it, but for the most part it just eats socks. I'm really busy. I have two jobs. Most of the time when I do laundry, socks get paired when I'm folding, (if the pair made it into the wash together) and then tossed into the drawer. Granted, it is a good size drawer, 18 inches back, 36 inches wide, 6 inches deep. It holds A LOT of socks. Somehow, even paired socks seem to disappear into this gaping hole when I put them in there. It took me 5 minutes today to find a pair of short ankle gym socks, of which I have dozens. I found ONE pair, and countless more that didn't seem to match. I suppose I could take an hour and clean the drawer out, but I know that inevitably the sock monster would just drop a few more in the drawer a few days after I organized it, beginning the whole wretched cycle all over again.

My boyfriend is driving me batty...really, it's not his fault but, UGHH!!!! I thought him loosing his job at our former employer would be good for our relationship...instead, it's making it worse. It is said that science cannot offer solid proof of the existence of God. The facts have to be interpreted by each individual to allow them to draw their own conclusions. In most belief systems that include a creator of some description, there is a concept of accountability for all your actions. Atheists often vilify those who believe in God, hence my question. Is atheism usually a thought out and reasoned decision? Or is the concept of accounability to a Creator too unpalatable for some poeople, so their atheism is a form of denial?

Bad Times
Well it looks like I will be just another number standing in the unemployment line soon. My position at my store is being eliminated. If there is an opening at another location I can interview for a position at that location. However, the closest location is 45 minutes away in light traffic. Or I can resign my position, lose $3 an hour and get anywhere from 5-37 hours a week. Yay me. I will get the final word on any open positions or if I have to step down within the next four weeks. So if I seem blah and a little pissy over the next few weeks you now know why. I am off this weekend and will be updating my resume and job hunting. Wish me luck.

I woke up early this morning. A rarity for me indeed, as my night owl tendencies are beginning to show again and I push that bedtime back later and later. Triceps
So I was at the gym at lunch (snickering is acceptable). I worked out my triceps the hardest I ever have. I felt very weak but went on with my work day..... So I'm no longer going to Dayton, Ohio to be a recruiter. I'm now going to Bristol,Virginia or you could also say Bristol,Tennessee. My son Gilbert was eight years old and had been in Cub Scouts only a short time. Just Found Out *sighs*
I have not been feeling good the past few months.. since Oct time... cold after cold.. sinuses issues.. broncitus..etc. They took me in and run alot of tests on me.. seems my immune system is down majorly. They found out i havent had a few regular tests done while i was there and had me do them as well. Well my test results came back.. and it seems i have ovarian cancer. I am a single mom of 3 kids... not sure how this is gonna work out.. they says they caught it early.. but it is in gods hands i guess. They put me on strong meds to boost my immune system... at the end of the month i go for a hysterectomy.. and then a few rounds of chemo... they hope thats all it takes.. as do i.

.. Watching the news. Just see another motorcyclist is dead. Driving stupid and running from cops, he went over the overpass and crashed and fell off the bridge. Dead. My reaction,.. i don't give a fuck at all. Most of the people on street bikes, not talking Harleys,.. these guys drive like total assholes. You can be doing 80 on the highway, and they zoom by you as if you are doing 25 mph. Last week I am coming home from work. Emergency crew and police all over the highway. To no surprise, another bike accident. I slowly drive by to see someone pressing their fists against the guys chest who is laying in the road, his bike totaled a few hundred feet ahead. Love And Relationships
Over the years, I've become pretty good at introspection, honestly examining myself and critiquing my actions and my life. Lately I've been thinking a lot about my relationships and love. What I've found isn't very nice or encouraging. Looking back over the years what I've discovered is that I have the ability to evoke many good emotions from the women in my life, friendship, pleasure, desire, lust. But the one emotion I don't bring out is love. Oh sure, I've been told "I love you" but what I've discovered is that with one notable exception, I'm in their lives for other reasons. I fill some need in their lives other than love, a shoulder to cry on, a sympathetic ear, some one to vent to, an escape, whatever. I know this sounds like so much self pity, but really, it's not. I just have to view my relationships in a different context. I have stop expecting love and just accept things as they are, to fill my life with friends and expect nothing more.

Teacher's Letter
This is a subject close to my heart. Do you know that we have adult students at the school where I teach who are not US citizens and who get the PELL grant, which is a federal grant (no pay back required) plus other federal grants to go to school? One student from the Dominican Republic told me that she didn't want me to find a job for her after she finished my program, because she was getting housing from our housing department and she was getting a PELL grant which paid for her total tuition and books, plus money leftover. She was looking into WAIT which gives students a CREDIT CARD for gas to come to school, and into CARIBE which is a special program (check it out - I did) for immigrants and it pays for child care and all sorts of needs while they go to school or training. There's this guy on here who I used to date before I got a bf. Once upon a time which was a couple months ago I left him a comment which I'll admit wasn't very nice saying , "you look weird with a beard." and ever since then when I try to click on his profile it basicallysays I can't look at his profile... Only once in the 9 years that I've actually had the pleasure of experiencing Valentine's day with a significant other (intermittently) have I had a Valentine's day worth remembering. Just when the hell is this recession going to ease up. I can't imagine how all of the families are dealing with unemployment. You know, a lot of them make up a portion of the towns. So they get laid off, money gets tight, they slow on spending, the businesses in turn lay more people off, if they are one of the lucky ones that can manage to keep their head above water. So basically what this means is we don't need to stop spending. That seems to be making the problem worse. I suppose that is easier said than done if you aren't one of the fortunate few to still be working. It just sucks to have friends that are struggling and there is nothing to do to help them. Things will get better; how long before it does? Who knows.....
